Group Rate $195/night (single, double, triple, quad, suites, and corner rooms), plus applicable taxes (~17.5% at time of contracting). Rate available 3 days before and 3 days after the room block dates, subject to availability.
Block Cutoff Monday, April 5, 2027. Book before this date to guarantee the group rate. Rooms released to general inventory after cutoff, though the group rate may still be available subject to availability.
Check-In 4:00 PM. Guests arriving early will be accommodated as rooms become available. No standard early check-in fee if your room is ready. Bell staff can store luggage for early arrivals.
Check-Out 11:00 AM. Bell staff can store luggage on departure day if you are attending afternoon sessions.
Deposit Individual reservations require a deposit equal to one night's room rate + tax at time of booking.
Cancellation Individual reservations cancelled less than 72 hours before scheduled arrival (after 4:00 PM, three nights prior) will forfeit the one-night deposit.
Parking Discounted valet parking available at $43.50/night. Multiple public garages within walking distance.
Childcare If you have childcare needs, you may indicate this during registration and we will follow up with information about local options for you to arrange independently. Private lactation rooms are available at the hotel. Children are welcome throughout the conference.
Book early. The SAR group rate room block will fill quickly. The cutoff date is April 5, 2027 — reserve your room before then to guarantee the $195/night group rate. Alternative accommodations in downtown Baltimore are also available nearby.

Getting to the Hotel

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is in the heart of downtown Baltimore, easily reachable from all three area airports by several modes of transportation.

Rideshare (Uber / Lyft)

The easiest door-to-door option from any airport. From BWI, expect approximately 20–30 minutes and $30–$50 depending on traffic and surge pricing. Pickup zones are well-marked at all three airports.

Light Rail — BWI to Downtown

The MTA Light Rail connects BWI Airport to downtown Baltimore, with a stop at Centre Street near the hotel. A cost-effective option at under $2 per ride; journey takes approximately 35–45 minutes. Look for the Light Rail shuttle at the BWI terminal.

MARC Train — Regional Rail

The MARC Penn Line offers frequent weekday service between BWI Marshall Station and Baltimore's Penn Station. From Penn Station, the hotel is a short taxi, rideshare, or 20-minute walk. Weekday service only; check schedules at mta.maryland.gov.

Rental Car

All three airports offer on-site car rental. If driving, the Lord Baltimore Hotel offers valet parking. Note that downtown Baltimore has limited and priced street parking; using the hotel valet or a nearby public garage is recommended.

Amtrak

Baltimore's Penn Station is served by Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, with frequent service from New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Boston. The hotel is accessible from Penn Station by taxi, rideshare, or the Charm City Circulator.

Charm City Circulator

National Aquarium

One of the top aquariums in the US, located on the Inner Harbor. Home to dolphins, sharks, and a stunning rainforest exhibit.

Maryland Science Center

Also at the Inner Harbor, with exhibits spanning astronomy, earth science, and a five-story IMAX theater.

Fells Point & Little Italy

Historic waterfront neighborhoods with excellent dining, craft bars, and cobblestone streets. A 10–15 minute drive or rideshare from the hotel.

Baltimore Museum of Art

Home to the world's largest collection of works by Henri Matisse, plus an impressive modern and contemporary collection. Free general admission.

Lexington Market

One of America's oldest public markets, just a few blocks from the hotel. Famous for Maryland crab cakes and local vendors.

Include all information needed on the letter — full name, organizational affiliation, birthdate, passport number, and any other details required by your country. Please allow adequate lead time for your visa application process.

Childcare & Nursing

If you have childcare needs, please indicate this during registration and we will follow up with information about local options for you to arrange. The hotel provides private rooms for lactation use. Children are welcome in all areas of the conference.

Weather in April

Baltimore in late April is typically mild and pleasant. Average temperatures range from the mid-50s°F at night to the low-70s°F during the day (12–22°C). Light layers and a jacket for evenings are recommended. Rain is possible; a compact umbrella is a practical addition.
